What on earth is Theatre N16 Limited?

It sounds a bit odd doesn't it. Isn't N16 a postcode in London yet all your gaffs are in the North East. Well Theatre N16 Limited was originally set up by entrepreneur and theatre impresario Jamie Eastlake as a ground breaking company in London to take over and occupy spaces and keep costs down for theatre companies. Across three separate venues in three years Eastlakes idea allowed for over 300 theatre companies to be given cost effective space and produce exciting, new work on Londons OffWestEnd. With countless work going onto exciting ventures and many artists becoming house hold names, as well as the company trading under the name Eastlake Productions to go on to be Olivier Award winning , Theatre N16 Limited made a vast impact on Londons theatre landscape in a very short time. Sadly due to the property market in the Smoke pricing out N16 and the companies Exec producer Richard Jenkinson suddenly passing the company went quiet for a few years. Behind the scenes Eastlake however was scheming to bring the model to his native North East but also make it financially sustainable. Combined with his love of fresh exciting food and his best friend and chef Isaak Robinson, his number two in his day job Cieran Faulder he set up Laurences Tapas and Entertainment bar in Blyth, Northumberland. Even with the pandemic raging people flocked to the bar to experience nights of live entertainment, eclectic food choices and socially distanced nights out. With Laurences success Eastlake wanted to create a space with a full time theatre venue that could fully support artists from his hometown Blyth Valley and create a space for everyone in the North East that could change the theatrical landscape within the region. Bringing onboard friend, artist and businessman Steve Robertson they conceived Laurels- The Ultimate Entertainment Venue On The Coast.

This is the start of the revolution...
